Damen Maaskant Shipyard Stellendam is pleased to announce the relaunch of the motor yacht Lady Esther following an extensive refit. For the past three years, the vessel has undergone work in the yard’s covered facility. This included the lengthening of the vessel from 50, to over 60 metres. The yacht was originally built in 1979 by Elsflether Werft in Germany. Back then, she was named Hanse. She was initially renamed Lou Spirit, but has now received the name Lady Esther.
Lady Esther was redesigned by the renowned Vripack Design, together with the owner´s Interior Team. Following this, she was completely rebuilt by Damen Maaskant from bare steel. During the work, as well as extending the vessel by more than 10 metres, the yard renewed almost the entire aluminium superstructure and added two open decks, with a large jacuzzi on the sun deck.
Damen Maaskant offers over 75 years of experience in shipbuilding and has the capacity to undertake refits and conversions on vessels up to 70 metres. The yard boasts direct access to the North Sea and offers in-house design, engineering, and project management capabilities, as well as three drydocks and a covered refit facility.
Damen Maaskant Managing Director Eric Moerkerk says, “In 2020 we started refitting yachts when owner representatives and yacht captains approached us. They appreciated our no-nonsense mentality. Each of us feels a sense of responsibility and pride in what we do. Our people always think in terms of tailor-made solutions. We are real shipbuilders and that’s what sets us apart.”
