Who we are

Marine Design Engineering Galati SRL (MDEG) is a Romanian division of the multiservice engineering company MDEM Intl. In December 2023 MDEG was registered in Galați as a Romanian legal entity, being transformed from the Romanian location of MDEM in terms of remote capacity to a separate company and member of MDEM Intl. Continuing its development, MDEG has become an operational company within the Damen Group in June 2024 and at the beginning of November the workforce had grown to 60 skilled employees and continued to grow. Now it's a new company with highly qualified engineers inheriting the traditions of more than 15-years experience of MDEM within Damen.

MDEG core business activity is the development of basic design and detailed engineering of the vessels and various digital services for Damen Shipyards Group. Besides traditional engineering, the company portfolio is expanded by additional services, namely Engineering and Technical Services, Research & Development, Digital Services. Quality is our highest priority and we are doing our best to provide the effective time and costs balance meeting the Client expectations and ensuring Client satisfaction. Based on the Damen quality standards we propose our Clients the innovative ship designs along with the wide range of customized digital services. We expect oceans of possibilities to appear from the synergy of MDEM/MDEG expertise and the Romanian maritime business environment.
