Service Agreements

Our customer Service Agreements offered to clients in the Middle East region allow them to benefit from increased uptime, life extension, higher residual value and improved reliability. Our wide range of agreements cover every stage of a vessel’s lifecycle and are tailored to client requirements. Located in the UAE, Damen Services Middle East also has a dedicated department that focuses on long-term Service Agreements with our local customers. Proper and regular maintenance is vital to not only prolong the lifetime of the equipment, but to also increase the efficiency of your assets.

Condition-based Maintenance

To support the maintenance process, Damen Services Middle East and PON CAT can jointly assist clients in maintaining their Caterpillar assets. Based upon years of experience, Damen and PON CAT offer a Condition-based Maintenance Contract in which we help clients reduce their costs, while at the same time, allowing them to focus on their core business.

By means of a flat running hour fee, risks and responsibilities are diverted to Damen and PON CAT, while clients in the Middle East region have the advantage of a predictable cash flow without peaks in expenditures. Total lifecycle costs can be reduced by extending maintenance intervals and oil savings. Through Damen Triton, scheduled oil- and coolant sampling and regular maintenance visits, the status of the engine will be monitored, improving uptime.

Best Practice

For a customer in the Middle East, Damen has been involved in the design, engineering, construction and delivery of two Offshore Patrol Vessels. Based on the operational profile of the vessels, Damen developed a customised Service Agreement and maintenance plan. The programme included extensive operator training courses, both at OEM premises and on board the vessels at the building yard. A separate maintenance training programme for the shore-based maintenance crew was also developed. Additionally, Damen has tailored onboard ship parts packages, based on the operational profile of the vessels, as well as an additional base onshore spares package.
